We’ve arrived safely in Jasper. We drove here yesterday from Edmonton, it took 4 hours. I bought new sunglasses and wore them all the way here, even when it was cloudy. 😎
Jasper is beautiful – the pic below doesn’t really capture it, but gives you a rough idea…
It’s bloody freezing. In fact, freezinger than freezing, more freezing than freezing. So freezing, I don’t even remember what normal is freezing is. (To put a number on it: it’s been around -25c which isn’t too bad, but a ‘feels like’ -38c with the wind.) The only way I can explain it, is to imagine someone punched you on the nose about 30 seconds after leaving your car. But after the punch, they continue to hold your nose & eventually your jaw & finally your whole head in a vice grip and just squeeeeeze… that kinda cold.
Because of the cold, we decided to discover the mountains by car. We popped to the tourist information & he suggested the road to Maligne Lake, so we headed in that direction. Not much to say really. The drive was good, we did a few stops to snap some pics (please appreciate them as our hands were PAINFUL taking these). We saw some brown & red birds, a cute duo of chipmunks and a couple with their puppy… unfortunately no moose though.
Also, we heard this fab new song. (😂) Check it out: Never Met A Beer…

He’s clearly never tasted Harp lager!
