Please disregard where I said our final Yukon hike was the last ‘real’ day in Canada. We thought it would be, but we actually had quite a nice day in Vancouver when our flight landed, so it’s not fair to discount that.
There’s not really much to say about it, but it was still lovely. We dropped our bags at the hostel, did a quick change into slightly-less-hot clothes & wandered the streets of Vancouver. We were lucky with the weather – it was glorious sunshine & 16°!!!
We grabbed some slices of pizza for $1.50 each, then wandered down to Granville Island as I wanted to get some gifts for my nieces. We popped in a thrift store on the way to get some cool new caps. (These were for our upcoming bike trip this summer, but also served us well on the day as we were a bit sunburnt from Kathleen lake!)
After wasting some time on the Island, we headed back via a park, skimmed some stones in the sea, played with the slingshot* and eventually got back to the hostel. After some chilling & re-packing, we ran down to the bar downstairs just in time for happy hour. 🍻
A really nice actual last day in Canada.
*The slingshot is technically a gift, but obviously it needed a quick quality control test.
