Just another Moss Enthusiast.

When we arrived yesterday we headed straight to the hostel. It was too early for check-in & we hadn’t done any Googling or anything beforehand (again*), so had no clue what Vancouver had to offer.

Another map.

Fortunately, when we were leaving our bags in the storage area, a short “So, do you like living in Vancouver?” lead to a full blown convo, with multiple recommendations. A few minutes later, we were heading off in the direction of the harbour, with a paper map (yay!) and a couple of screenshots showing us the way to “Lynn Canyon”. (Our screenshots included a Sea Bus so we were on the lookout for this)

As we sighted the water we realised we didn’t actually know where the boat terminal was, but we felt like the water was probably a good start, so we just headed as close to it as we could. We only hit one dead-end before we found the right way and arrived about 5 mins before the ferry did, so all round a pretty successful method. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

We boarded, crossed the harbour, disembarked & then decided we were hungry. Our screenshots didn’t include food destinations, but there was Starbucks next to the port, so we sponged their wifi and Googled places for brunch**. I chose one but when we got there it was packed, with an up-to-50-minute wait. I was pretty hangry at this point, but Etienne remained patient & positive. He soon found us an alternative which sounded a bit dodge, but was actually super nice & had Gluten Free options(!) – Eighties Restaurant.

Compilation of “artsy” photos.

Once refueled, we headed off again. We walked for a bit, then saw the bus we thought we needed, so ran and jumped on. It was the wrong bus, but it got us closer. We hopped off at 29th Street, per advice from fellow passengers, and walked the rest of the way. Soon after, we’d made it.

We had a lovely walk all along a river, round a lake & across the little suspension bridge. It was pretty busy… not UK-busy, but definitely not Canmore-quiet. We wandered round for a few hours and tried to take artsy photos*** of the forest. (Any tips on how to do this well are most definitely welcomed!) Most of them were rubbish. We did a full loop, then made our way back to the hostel. Tiredness hit us on the way home and the “16 minute” (according to Google) walk from the Seabus, seemed to take an eternity! ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Finally we were back. I posted my catch-up posts and then we hit the hay. A long & tiring day, but a good one nonetheless.

**Brunch: I’ve been quite defensive in the past when people accuse the British of “Not having Breakfast”. Well, that defensiveness is hereby removed and I’m happy to own the fact that we love a good Brunch. Anyone who doesn’t really needs to get on board with this tasty & cost effective meal-merge.

***Overheard comment while channelling my inner-artist, crouching for a shot: “Well, she’s clearly a moss enthusiast. ๐Ÿ™„”

  1. Did you have deja vu on the suspension bridge? You went over that when you were 6 years old x
